Tasdeaf announces new Chief Executive Officer

The Tasmanian Deaf Society (Tasdeaf) is proud to announce that Mr Gordon Melsom has been appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Mr Colin Allen, the acting CEO will return to the Deaf Society of NSW as Director of Services.
Gordon brings a wealth of expertise to Tasdeaf with over 20 years experience as a practising manager and leader. Ten of these years have been as a CEO with a range of prominent non-for-profit organisations including Diabetes Australia (ACT), Relationships Australia (WA) and Homelessness Australia.
Gordon’s credentials also include serving on several boards such as the University of Notre Dame Australia School of Counselling & Health (WA), Family Law Foundation (WA), Northern Suburbs Community Legal Centre (WA) and Technical Aid to the Disabled (ACT). He has also lectured at Edith Cowan in the School of Business and Public Sector Management, Notre Dame Universities and the Curtin University Graduate School of Management.
Tasdeaf Board Chairperson, Ms Alex Newton, said that, on behalf of the Board of Directors, she was delighted to welcome Gordon to Tasdeaf as its new CEO.
Upon commencing as CEO on July 8, Mr Gordon Melsom will be available for interviews.
