Opportunity for Disability Services Professional Development Grants (DSPDGs)

The Department of Human Services recognises the contribution that lifelong learning and professional development make towards a fulfilling work life.
As such, the department is encouraging people currently working in, or wanting to work in, disability services to apply for one of the following DSPDGs.
The grants provide financial support for existing and potential workers to develop skills and knowledge in specific areas of need for people with disability and service development.
• Study grant (formerly TAFE and Tertiary Study Scholarship) - This grant is for study in a TAFE or tertiary course that leads to a qualification. It is valued at between $3000 and $5000 and is a contribution toward course fees incurred in 2011 and 2012.
• Ethel Temby research grants (formerly Ethel Temby Study Tour Awards) - These grants are for research via PhD, Masters, formal research or interstate and overseas travel tours. They are valued at $9000 and will cover costs incurred in 2011.
