Following an extensive recruitment process, the Board of CanDo Group Charities is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Judy Curran to the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the CanDo Group (CanDo4Kids and Deaf CanDo), commencing on Monday 15th March 2010.

Judy possesses in excess of 15 years in the not-for-profit sector, and since 2003 has held the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with scosa, the Spastic Centres of South Australia Inc. (formerly Community Access Services of South Australia Inc). Prior to scosa, Judy held a range of senior management roles – including Deputy Executive Director - with the Australian Red Cross SA Division.

Qualified with a Master of Business Administration (University of South Australia), a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) and Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Judy also won the South Australian 2007 Telstra Business Women of the Year award in the Community Services category.

The Board are confident that Judy’s senior leadership experience in disability services and the private sector, combined with her passion, professionalism and strategic abilities will enable her to make a significant contribution to assisting CanDo Group Charities, their clients, partners and stakeholders alike fulfil their objectives.

I would also like to take the opportunity to publicly thank Mr Grant Goodall for his performance as Interim CEO of CanDo Group Charities since July 2009. Grant has stepped into the role and very capably managed the CanDo Group through a dynamic and challenging period. We wish Grant every success in the future.
