MEDIA RELEASE - from Deaf Services Queensland - 19 February 2010
The Board of Deaf Services Queensland wish to inform you that Damian Lacey offered his resignation as CEO of DSQ, effective from Friday 19 February and this was accepted by the Board at a meeting on Tuesday 16 February.
Brett Casey has been appointed as interim CEO, and Angelo Toscano will continue as Chief Financial Officer. This will give the organisation stability and time to fully explore the future of our relationship with DCA and the DSA partnership.
Damian would like to thank the staff at DSQ and to say he feels it has been an honour to work with such a dedicated and talented team.
Damian has served us faithfully for the past six years, as he and his team recovered DSQ from a very uncertain situation. Today DSQ is a strong and viable organisation with excellent connections to government and funding bodies.
The DSQ Board has been reassured by the DCA Board of their ongoing commitment to the DSA partnership and we look forward to further discussions.
The DSQ Board thanks Damian for the contributions he has made to our organisation. The DSQ Board is confident that, together with all our dedicated staff and a revitalised and strong Board, DSQ will develop a strategic plan in order to continue to grow and build upon its already sound foundation, to deliver quality services to the Deaf people of Queensland.
Board of Directors, DSQ
