Vicdeaf's Information Officer aims to provide the wider community and organisations/services with appropriate and relevant information about the Deaf community. This includes communication strategies, how to address issues that may arise and to have an understanding of the different requirements of Deaf people e.g. provision of Auslan interpreters. The Deaf community is a cultural minority group within Australia and has its own language: Auslan (Australian Sign Language). Our Information Officer has Certificate IV in Training and Assessment consistent with AFE training requirements.

Auslan interpreting and Deaf Awareness Training (DAT) in the workplace for Deaf new workers and Deaf existing workers. Our Information Officer at Vicdeaf has Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and can provide this Deaf Awareness Training in your workplace through the AFE programme. |

Auslan interpreting for employment interviews for eligibly Deaf job-seekers and eligible Deaf existing workers. |

Initial assistance for co-workers of Deaf workers to undertake studies in Certificate II Auslan (nationally recognized) courses. |
