Independent Living Skills

Client Support Workers run individualised programs to support clients who are Deaf with disabilities, to become more independent and to extend their current living skills. Clients must be Deaf and have additional disabilities including physical, sensory, intellectual, learning and mental health difficulties.

The ILS team can provide support in areas such as travel training, mobile phone programs, budgeting, cooking/nutrition and computer skills development.

Migrants and Refugees

ILS also supports newly arrived migrants and refugees by providing initial one-on-one support to develop basic Auslan/English communication skills before linking them to a multicultural Auslan/English class.
