Vicdeaf - Booking Instructions

Using the SLC VIC Online Booking System

Initial Registration

SLC VIC, the interpreter and notetaker booking division of Vicdeaf, uses a web-based, online booking system. In order to create bookings, you/your organisation will need to undertake an initial registration.

Please note that it is advisable that a single, generic registration and login is advised for most organisations. For example, if you work in the Springvale CentreLink office creating a generic user name such as springvalecentrelink with a generic password such as interpreterbookings or 324springvale means that the login and password can continue to be used even if staff members change.

How to register as a new customer:

1. Go to www.slcommunications.com.au and click on the register button

2. Complete the various fields indicating your organisation name, street address, billing address, etc.  Choose your own login and password.

3. To complete your registration, find the “Save” button that is near the top of the screen on the right hand side and click on it.

4. You should receive a screen that says, “Thank you, your registration is complete”.  If you have not received this screen, there is some error with your registration details.  Please feel free to contact the SLC VIC booking office on 1300 123 SLC (752) if you are unable to identify how the error has occurred.

5. If you have successfully registered, you will see on the screen, “You may now login with the details you entered during registration.”  Click on the word login and use your user name and password to enter into the booking system.

You are now ready to create a booking. Please feel free to contact us should you have any concerns about this process.

Duplicating a Booking

SLC VIC, the interpreter and notetaker booking division of Vicdeaf, uses a web-based, online booking system. Once you have created a booking, it is possible to duplicate it. The reason for duplicating a booking is if you require two or more interpreters at the assignment. The duplication function is not only easy, but time saving as it is not necessary for you to re-enter all of the assignment data.

To create a duplicate booking, please proceed as follows:

1. You are already logged-in to the SLC VIC online booking system and you have just created a booking.

2. To create a duplicate booking, look in the left hand menu and click on “View Your Bookings”.

3. In the screen that appears, click on the number of the booking that you have just created.

4. On the top of the booking in the blue bar, next to where you have clicked “Submit” you will now see an option that says “Duplicate”.  Click this option and the second booking is created for you, automatically.

5. Now you will see in the same blue bar the option “Save Copy”.  Click this and the second booking will be completed and a separate booking number assigned to it.

6. You are able to view this as well as all of your current bookings with us by going to the left hand menu and clicking on “View Your Bookings”.
